This project involved the site planning and engineering design of a new wastewater treatment facility as part of a broader Community Wastewater Management Program. The facility was developed to address wastewater needs, enhance environmental protection, and improve public health infrastructure in the service area.
Major Components of the Project Included:
- Site Planning and Civil Design
- Evaluation and selection of suitable site based on topography, environmental impact, and accessibility
- Design of site layout including access roads, stormwater management, and grading
- Coordination with utility services for water, power, and communications infrastructure
- Wastewater Treatment Facility Design
- Process design for treatment capacity based on projected flow and loading
- Layout and design of treatment units (e.g., tanks, clarifiers, filters, disinfection systems)
- Design of associated structures such as control building, chemical storage, and equipment enclosures
- Regulatory Compliance and Permitting
- Preparation of design documentation in accordance with New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) and local health department standards
- Assistance with environmental permitting, SPDES discharge permitting, and SEQR documentation
- Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Engineering
- Specification and layout of pumps, blowers, control panels, and backup power systems
- Electrical and instrumentation design for system monitoring and automation
- Construction Documents and Bidding Support
- Preparation of stamped engineering drawings and detailed specifications
- Support during bidding process
- Optional Construction Phase Services
- Construction administration, submittal review, and field inspections
- Assistance with startup, testing, and system commissioning
